My Life as a Professional Photographer

As an 8-year-old, the gift of a Brownie camera ignited my life-long love affair with photography, but it was the 1972 hustle and bustle of New York City's commercial photography world that provided the fertile ground for my career in photography.  As I built my skills and reputation as a professional photographer, I was proud to work with such clients as Estee Lauder, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, Y & R, McCann-Erickson, Macy's, Bloomingdale's, New York Magazine, Metropolitan Home Magazine, and Architectural Digest.  My work was diverse and assignments were exciting, taking me from corporate annual reports and location shoots around the world,  to my Fifth Avenue studio for special effects and table top still life photography.

After 25 years in New York I was ready for a change!  So I packed up my home and moved to upstate New York near the Berkshire Mountains in Massachusetts.  I wanted to be around trees and mountains, with a lifestyle that was more deeply nurturing than being in the city.   The bucolic Berkshire landscapes caught my attention and the speed, immediacy, and quality of the new digital technology was very exciting for me.  The possibilities here were endless and continually inspiring. 

In the spring of 2005 I began photographing artists whose work I admired.  I have always had a deep appreciation for artists and the work they produced and finally found a way to collaborate with them in creating photographic essays that expressed something about their creative message and experiences.  Later that year, after living in New York State all of my life, I embarked on a new adventure and moved to Santa Fe, New Mexico.  Now I am  collaborating with Santa Fe performing artists, especially dancers and musicians, creating photographic websites, portraits, exhibits and brochures highlighting their creative work.
